Celebs dressing in the same outfits to break stereotypes about gender identity
Although there is a lot that can be said for how uniquely celebs tend to dress when attending events, they seem to be falling into the same clothing tropes along gender lines. Females are wearing dresses and jumpsuits, while males are wearing suits or shirts. No two ways around it: genders are still a very important determinant of clothing.
Certain famous people, though, don’t have any of that. Regardless of whether they have done so purposely or not, there have been pretty many situations in which both the man and the woman celebs have seemingly switched outfits between events and have appeared in the same clothes. Thus, without any unnecessary ado, “Who wore it best?”
Timothée Chalamet vs. Jamie Lee Curtis
As we know, Timothée adores brightly colored suits, but this scarlet red suit has got to be the one best outfit we have seen him in. At the same time, the actress shows that this is an outfit that can be worn by any age and every sex while maintaining a class, style plus youthfulness.
Davina McCall vs. Jonathan Van Ness
In everything you would consider a typical masculine outfit, it is hard to see Jonathan, so I think it makes more sense adding him to our list for one time at least. The male star matched one of his fewer drama outfits with a sheer, high collar blouse, and a classical jacket. Davina seems like she shared exactly this idea, and they are really rocking it!
Zendaya vs. Timothée Chalamet
They were both wearing a fuchsia costume and a matching shirt of fuchsia. It was difficult not to notice in such a bright color. Though Zendaya’s outfit obviously has more of a woman’s thing about it, especially those never-ending legs, it is great to see how Timothée pulls it off as well as she does.
Naomi Campbell vs. Antoni Porowski
Whereas a one-button jacket is traditionally identified as more feminine, Naomi with Antoni shows that one-button jackets are a great look for both sexes. The matching sneakers worn by Antoni are really a good touch here.
Zendaya vs. Michael B. Jordan
The two look so fabulous, and that textured dark gray suit isn’t any different. The tie of Zendaya truly brings the attire together, and by the way, Michael B. Jordan goes on to prove why the man ranked as the sexiest guy alive.
Harry Styles vs. Lady Gaga
Both don’t know that they are wearing the “obvious” choices, but such an outfit is definitely the best when it comes to breaking down the gender stereotypes. These yellow jackets as well as the lilac scarves (obviously Marc Jacobs’ creation) fit the energy of both celebs and are perfect for their look.
